I am participating in the Inspire.Create Challenge #28, which is a color challenge!
This is not a color combination I would have reached for on my own but it was so fun to work with!
For my card I wanted to multitask. I am attending a Stampin’ UP! event in Orlando next month and need to make ‘thank you’ themed swaps. I have SO many tasks to complete in the next month, that I decided to use the opportunity of this challenge to coordinate one of my projects. This color scheme said ‘floral’ to me and I jumped at the chance to use a bundle I purchased awhile back but haven’t touched, yet – Bouquet Blooms.
I wasn’t sure how I wanted to incorporate the Sahara Sand so I started with it as the card base. Once I stamped some flowers in the other colors, it sort of all came together. I used a Sahara Sand mat just smaller than the card base and stamped the new Buffalo Check background stamp on it in Sahara Sand ink. This is, easily, one of my favorite new stamps (maybe, ever)! I also knew I wanted to use the new Lined Alphabet stamps and coordinating dies because I absolutely ADORE them and one of my favorite things to do is stamp them onto patterned paper. I immediately rummaged through my stacks of paper for Calypso Coral patterns since the Lovely Lipstick would be too overpowering for the design I had in my head. The piece I ended up using is in the lovely, Nature’s Poem suite.
This card came out, almost, exactly like I imagined – which, let’s face it, never happens! It was a little labor intensive (all of the cutting of the pieces) but so worth it! I was able to cut around my images and cut one card’s inventory with two passes through the Big Shot. I’m not completely done with my swaps but I have all of my pieces stamped and ready to be cut out and assembled.
I accented my card with two pieces of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and Lovely Lipstick Glitter Enamel Dots in the center of the largest flower.
Thanks for stopping by! All of the items I used can be found in the carousel link below and can be purchased through my online store.
Happy Crafting,
