Hi Crafty Friends! I’m so glad you’re here! Whether you follow me, or you’re hopping along with us today – Welcome!

Today’s post is part of a Blog Hop for members of Kylie Bertucci’s Demonstrator Training Program. I hope you enjoy my project and will hop along with everyone listed below!

For this project, I chose to work with Stampin’ Up!’s To A Wild Rose bundle. This flower is so gorgeous in any color combination. My card had a specific purpose, though. This one was for someone special and when I sat down to create I had her in mind. Do you ever find someone in your life that just inspires you and ‘gets’ you? I have and I am so, so grateful. When I signed up (for my 3rd time) to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator 3 1/2 years ago, I wanted the discount like most do. After a few months, I migrated toward hosting small classes, being urged on by friends. Then my family moved to a new area and I was able to be closer to and connect with a fellow Luv 2 Stamper, and upline, Patty Bennett. I am 2 levels below Patty but we became fast crafty friends. She took me under her wing and has supported me and cheered me on and pushed me in the direction of my dreams over the last 2 years. I cannot say enough good things about her, her generosity and her support.

I’ll save you the rest of the details because this post could turn into a novel and that’s not why I’m here. I’m here to share this awesome card with you. Do you ever create something and just LOVE it immediately? This card mirrors what I envisioned in my head and just SCREAMS “Patty”!

Well, (drum roll)…. Here it is! This is a Thank You card that I created for Patty to go with a fun gift to thank her for the amazing year that I’ve had in my Stampin’ Up! business and for her part in it. Her favorite Stampin’ Up! color is Poppy Parade and the gift I gave had gorgeous poppies on it so I wanted to make her a matching card.

My card base is Basic Gray with a Basic Black mat cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then a piece of the Poppy Parade Gingham from the Brights 6×6 DSP Stack cut to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.

I stamped the gorgeous Wild Rose layers (this is a 3 step stamp) on Whisper White card stock in various shades of Poppy Parade and the outline in Memento Black. The bottom layer of the flower is stamped off on scratch paper first to get a lighter tonal look. I wanted the flower to really pop!

I stamped the leaves Whisper White in various tones of Smoky Slate to achieve a similar affect and to stick with the theme. The travel set adorned with poppies that I gifted her is black and red.

I stamped my sentiment on Smoky Slate card stock and used the beautiful stitched label included in the Wild Rose dies to cut it out. I also used the cute sprig die and cut out two from Silver Foil for a touch of shine.

After layering all of my pieces, I added some extra dimension with the Monster Bash enamel shapes. I used the Basic Black dots in the center of the flowers to get that ‘fuzzy’ look that the centers of poppies have. I also used the Basic Gray dots around the rest of the card to pull it all together.

The final touch was making my coordinating envelope. I used another piece of the Poppy Parade Gingham and covered the flap of my envelope. That piece was cut to 2 1/4″ x 6″

Patty absolutely loved her card and gift and I was so happy! She really has been an amazing role model to me and even better, she’s turned into a priceless friend.
