Hi Crafty Friends! It’s January and I have exciting news! I am working with 5 amazing, crafty friends to launch a NEW 3D Tutorial Bundle!
Today, we’re celebrating with a blog hop! We’re each showing you a second project we created using the same stamp set/bundle we used in our Tutorial Bundle Project.
We have come together to create a special tutorial bundle that is totally EXCLUSIVE!
Have you checked out the amazing line up of designers for this round? They are all pretty amazing and talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!
Check out the sneak peek of our projects in this month’s PDF! I can’t show you the entire project – you’ll have to get the PDF in order to see it!
My project this month features the Heartfelt Bundle and would be the perfect little treat for a friend, co-worker or child’s class!
My second project created with new goodies in the From My Heart suite is a fun shaker card. I love using punches to create a quick and easy shaker.
The pieces I used for this card are:
- Flirty Flamingo Card Base – cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ – scored at 4 1/4″
- Real Red Mat – cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″
- From My Heart DSP mat – cut to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
- Whisper White Card Stock strip – 3/4″ x 6″ (to allow extra room for punching/stamping)
- Window Sheet – 3″ x 3″
- From My Heart DSP punched heart
- From My Heart Gems
- Peaceful Poppies Sequins
- Sentiment + Flirtly Flamingo Ink or Real Red Ink
The focal image of my card was punched out of the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. These papers feature beautiful foil designs.
I also punched the heart out of my Designer Series Paper (DSP) mat, making it easy to line up my heart on the bottom layer to make it my shaker.
Do not adhere your DSP mat to your bottom layer (Real Red mat) – just the heart.
Set the Real Red mat aside for now and flip over your DSP mat. Adhere your window sheet covering the heart opening and then outline the heart with Foam Strips, ensuring there are no gaps for your shaker bits to escape from. You’ll want to add foam strips to the rest of your mat to give it the full support it needs around the edges.
I find it easier to line up my layers if I put my shaker bits onto my focal spot instead of in my shaker pocket that I’ve created with foam strips.
You can then remove the release tape from your foam strips and adhere your DSP mat to the Real Red mat trapping your shaker bits in the pocket.
Next, you can stamp your sentiment on your Whisper White strip towards the left side before or after punching your heart out of the strip. When punching your heart, it is easiest to hold it over your card to help with placement so that there is plenty of extra on each side of the heart.
You will need to trim off the excess once you’ve stamped and adhered the two pieces to your card.
Adhere your layer to your card base and add sequins for that extra blingy touch and you’ve got a fun shaker card for someone special!
