I’ve been a little quiet the last few days because I’ve been soaking in the lovely Holiday Catalog and planning out my upcoming events. The catalog is SO good, you guys! SO good! As a Demonstrator we can order items early – a month early! What a treat! With that comes making a list and checking it twice and still missing things on the first pass. Today, I took a break from the planning to work on the Global Design Project Challenge for the week. I finished the card and am writing this with just a few hours to spare! Whew!
This week’s challenge was a color challenge. We were given three colors to use and can only add in the basics: Lovely Lipstick, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. These colors are fabulous together but probably wouldn’t have crossed my mind without seeing them first.
I picked up my three ink pads and stood in front of my stamp shelf. I had no concept or predetermined set in mind to use. I scrolled through my sets, trying to picture something from them in this color scheme. Then my eyes landed on Hand Delivered. My brain went straight to my Stampin’ Blends and I snatched the case off of the shelf. This is, easily, one of my favorite stamps from the new Annual Catalog and you can’t even buy it! It’s a Host Exclusive set that you get for FREE by using Host Rewards. How is that not the best thing ever?!
I used my Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers to color the girl and her balloons, with the exception of her skirt. I stamped the lower half of her on a piece of Bermuda Bay DSP from the 6×6 Brights Paper Stack and fussy cut her skirt to layer on top of my card. I love doing this for little pops of pattern. My card base is a standard 4.25″ x 5.5″ in Night of Navy and the mat behind my girl is another piece from the Brights Stack in Lovely Lipstick, cut at 3.75″ x 5.5″. I stamped her in Memento Ink on a 3″ x 5.5″ piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Once I had her mounted on my card, I used my Wink of Stella pen to add sparkle to her balloons and belt. This card is so simple, yet so pretty.
I had to take a few pictures to try to capture the sparkle.
Everyone needs the Hand Delivered set in their life! It’s versatile, fun and Photopolymer, which makes it so easy to line the elements up! This set packs such a whollop of style.
