Inspire Create Challenge Sketch

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today, I am sharing a fun card that I have submitted for the Inspire.Create. Challenge #062 using the adorable Honey Bee Bundle! This challenge is a sketch – but it’s a blank slate! Which means we could do whatever we wanted. And who doesn’t love that?!

I just love the new Honey Bee stamp set and coordinating dies in the Jan-June Mini Catalog. It’s so fun and honey bees are definitely in style right now!

Honey Bee Thank You Card

The hexagon honeycomb shape is probably my favorite die with this set. To make my background I die cut a couple of them and used them as stencils to sponge my Whisper White piece of cardstock and then I used the sponged pieces as an overlay.

I used Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight inks and varied my intensity with my sponging to get a variation of color across the card. The above example is also showing the different looks you can achieve whether using a Stampin’ Sponge or a Sponge Dauber. The top left is using the Stampin’ Sponge and the bottom left is the Sponge Dauber.

Once my background was completed, I use liquid glue to add my honeycomb pieces on and layered it onto a Basic Black mat. I die cut a stitched circle from Whisper White and used the new Stone 3D Embossing folder on it. This folder comes in the Power of Hope bundle for Sale-A-Bration and is FREE with a $100 order. I stamped my bees, hive and sentiment and die cut them all out.

My last touch was to add some Daffodil sequins from the Metallic Bakers Twine and Sequins combo pack you can get for free right now during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order. I just love sequins!

I hope you enjoyed my project and I’m sure you’ll love the Honey Bee Bundle just as much as I do! You can pick it up with all of the items I used today, in my online store!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Crafting,
