I have always loved coloring. I remember having my own books and crayons at a very young age. I also remember my mom having her own books and crayons. She’d sit with us at the kitchen table to color but we weren’t allowed to use her books. I remember being so envious of her perfect pages and shading.

Even now, I enjoy coloring at my dining table. When Stampin’ UP! launched their Stampin’ Blends I was elated. I had just heard of alcohol markers not too long before that and the idea of Copics scared me – all of the colors and the price point. I’m a collector by nature and, frankly, the massive spectrum gave me anxiety. I started to pick up a few colors here and there and play with them, but I didn’t really have enough in my arsenal to make something substantial. Then came the Stampin’ Blends – which are a very happy compromise for me (this is my personal experience – I’m not making any negative statements about Copics)!

A few days ago I was lucky enough to sit down and spend some time coloring. As soon as I saw the new Annual Catalog at OnStage in April I fell in love with the Hand Delivered set. This set is exclusive to Hosts. You can’t purchase it from the catalog – it can only be obtained by using Host Rewards. Let me tell you, though – it is WORTH it! Just look at these fun images and the combinations that can be made!

As I was saying, a few days ago I had some time to sit down and color and I knew I wanted to play with this set. The Stampin’ Blends made it so easy to color and shade these images – I was pretty proud of my finished lady!

Once I finished, I knew I wanted it to be a birthday card. My dear friend from High School’s second oldest is turning 13 in a couple of months. I was scrolling through Pinterest and found a fun eclipse card made by Joanna James. My little lady was perfect for making a version of Joanna’s card. These Large Number Framelits are now retired, but they will forever live in my ‘I refuse to part with it’ stash.

The same friend’s oldest is graduating High School next summer. I’ve already got her congratulations card planned out using this same set!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Crafting,
